Key Expectations for this Course
1. That you are ready to expand your repertoire of techniques, to take chances in your writing (to expand your writerly comfort zone), and to intensively revise your work.
2. That you are prepared to make a serious investment of time and energy in the writing of your classmates.
3. That you participate in the peer review forum in responsible and respectful ways; i.e., striving to offer fair, tactful, constructive criticism and mutual support in the face of the demands of writing effectively.
4. That you contribute to the course running as well as it can by submitting all assignments on time and doing all readings in advance.
5. That I (and your classmates) will respect both your writing itself and your genuine efforts to engage with your own writing practice in the context of this course. (This does not mean that your writing will not be critiqued. Respecting a person's writing also entails a commitment to providing productive, detailed, and constructive feedback, rather than mere empty and/or uncritical praise and accolades.)
