Introduction of Faculty Mentor - Mr. Peter T. Samra:
I have worked as an educator for 32.5 years in School District #31 and since Nicola Valley district amalgamated with Princeton, School District #58. In addition to be an Acting Principal, District Liaison & Advisor, I have been a Teacher (this has been at the Primary, Intermediate and High School levels) and Teacher Mentor (I have mentored 9 Teacher Candidates in this role).
As a Faculty Mentor, I love mentoring teacher candidates, sharing my tools of the trade and going to schools and observing lessons & providing feedback. I have mentored 12 Teacher Candidates from University of the Fraser Valley. Last year I have mentored 5 EDPR 4100 Teacher Candidates and from Thompson Rivers University. I have mentored 8 EDPR 4200 Teacher Candidates from TRU (3 last year and 5 this year). I am now thrilled to be mentoring more Teacher Candidates from Thompson Rivers University.
Below is a photo of me for you. It is taken in front of my home in the Nicola Valley when I was cheering for the Central School Staff as they drove right past my place in May 2020. Now I live with my family in my home in Aberdeen, here in this beautiful city of Kamloops.
